1.4bar - TD04 - Standard Internals...?

could be interesting, do a compression test before to start boosting it up so we know how healthy / not that the engine currently is. but as said alot of it is down to mapping.. just have a massive tray handy to catch all the oil lol!

best of luck my prediction the head gasket will go u see ppl all the time running standard engines with bigger headgaskets and there fine all the best cant wait to see what power u make :)

Its all about the mapping, i know of a 1.4 k series with only a little material taken out of the chambers running 1.5 bar with a CR of 9.5:1

Its done 10,000 miles wilth no problems with compression ratio varying from 7.6:1 to 9.5:1 and boost between .8 and 1.5 bar

Anyone seen the video on Youtube of people seeing how much stock internals take on a K20? Think it was like 45psi when it went bang :p

Just a quick update:

460cc Injectors are on there way thanks to Ryan :) Nick @ Tuning Developments is ready and waiting! Did a compression test last night and got 175psi across all cylinders.

Will start the mapping after Japfest...

I think people will be very impressed after this is proven with reliabilty. The japs and jamaicans have run quite high power on these engines in standardish form.

Yeah will be very interesting to see what a completely stock engine can do :D

Some people think it will blow before 1.4bar, some people think it will hold it....

im sure i read on here a while ago that someone ran a td05 at 1.5 bar and it lasted a few months.

~Update~

Quick update:

Thanks to GTdan I now have a set of 460cc injectors, (Thanks Dan :) )

Nick @ Tuning Developments is going to map my car on saturday to 1.4bar. Only have one issue, and thats a blowing manifold :( the runner on No.2 is cracked on the welds. Going to try and get it repaired before the weekend so hopefully this won't affect the mapping session.

Manifold cracked last week so waiting for a replacement off Sacha. So this is on hold for a few weeks :(

UPDATE!!!!

Tonight is the night people. Manifold is still cracked but sod it! Managed to bodge the manifold slighty with a bit of heat wrap and some quick steel.

To summarize this is a completely stock engine, all cylinders have 175psi, i have all the supporting mods to run 1.4bar. The map will be on a Emanage Ultimate. Nick @ Tuning Developments will be doing the mapping. If the car survives the mapping session it will be rolling roaded next saturday.

What are peoples ideas on either what power it will make and if it will even take it ???
