dont think people on hear are listening to some other members who have the same issue as me. I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR A WHILE, BUT DONT POST ALOT?? where do we stand?

i agree that something has to be done, and i will back the decision made by the mods but i think it should be taken into consideration people who are in my situation.

personally i think paid member and 3 months on the site, leaving the post count at 50. also the idea about your user name in the pic is very good, if you make the effort to take the pic then it shouldnt be an issue to get your user name in the pic 2!!

Think the rule will should be effected to new members, any older members before this date dosnt apply.

Expensive item should be sent recorded, Should be a option to buyer what postage he choose, any thing goes wrong, the buyer would to be blame.

I alway's send my stuff recorded, even if its a fiver's worth of stuff..
Its only penny's extra and at least you have a peice of mind it will get there ok...

So we are in agreement... no one wants the for sale section to go... This means we are going to have to make the for sale rules more stringent. I just hope that members see the reasons for doing this.

The simple fact is... something needs to change.

Something like the elite membership on DTD where you must attend a meet and be known to either a mod/rep or admin and make good posts.

Id advance a little bit as theres far more members here, as in if 3 or more elite members vouch for said member after making a seceret set no. of posts that contribute to the site

300 posts and at least 3 months membership on the forum. So the person selling has to have been around for quite awhile as well as having contributed a lot to the forum. Also maybe Paid Members only?

But thats why there is the option if your known to elite members they can vouch. Im not bragging but ive travelled over 60mile to nearly every single meet i was at,road trips are a good laugh.

This way doesnt suit everyone but its one of the closest ways to knowing all the sellers and its probably the safest.

I have noticed 1 thing ebay has just introduced although it could not be enforced on this site.

When someone buys off you and they pay via paypal the money is stored in a holding account in your paypal account.

Once the buyer has received your goods and posts positive feedback only then is the money released into your paypal account. It stops alot of problems thats foresure.

Its a pretty neat system i think, but one that could not be implimented on here just sharing some info.

Everybody who wishes to sell through TGTT has to have a 10minute interview with myself. I will quiz them on various different subjects and if I decide they are morally sound I will grant them permission to sell. If not, I will ban them.

I think this would work nicely.

i'm not sure about the post count upping as I've been a member a year and not posted that much due to reading mostly,
Maybe if all items had to have insurance, and the items had to be paid by paypal so that they could handle any disputes and the seller had to be a verified paypal member, (this could be checked by when they pay their membership).
I haven't had any bother though and find it an invaluable resource, hopefully it gets sorted

ive been caught with a seat here before,its not a nice thing to happen.
i think they should have to be a member for at least 3 months to sell stuff,or maybe let the reputation points system become viewable to members looking to buy from the person who is selling an item.

Well i always send my post registered,so id make that a must.

And im sure it cant be too hard to take and picture of your license and send it to admin,we all have to have one like and it'd be paid members only and keep confidential

Ok, I've have been "stung" so many times one here in the classified sections its unbelievable.... it just part of the learning curve ..

1. japspeed decat
2. autobahn mani
3. cusco pillow ball missing 1 center bolt

the list goes on.....what am I suppose to do.
I also gotten some real bargains and I still think the classified section should remain just people need to be better informed.

Up the post count sounds good aswell as the membership time. This craic of posting sh*te like 'if only I had the money and I cant believe this has'nt sold yet' has to stop its irrelevant info which just clutters up the for sale threads.

Upping the post count etc sounds like a great idea. Might pee some people off, but at least the people who use the classified threads will have a little more reassurance.

dont thnk the post count will make a major difference, people with really high counts and long time members have still caused abit of trouble, and its always the ones with low counts that buy stuff get ignored and the others trusted because of the post count

some people post rubbish to get high post counts and yes i knw the new system doesnt cant your post if you post in the chill out room but remember people how many of you's have got your posts from the old site where you have had over 100's and there you were allowed to post anything and it will count,

what people dont appreciate is that we dont get charged each time we advertise an item/s like ebay do, for me this is a great help and i am very gratefull to the modz who have created and designed this system but i would be really upset if the section closes,

common people test your items before selling, check them, run them, if this section closes remember you dogdy bastards (who ever you are, its not me check my feedback ) one day you will remember and need the section then you will cry and understand :shoot:

how about:

you start charging for advertising lol,

have some sort of link on the sellers page under his username and will show all the history of sales feedback (i know theres a sales feedback thread but cant you link that to each user) sorry if this is a big space taker for the site
