My auto ran two and a half years until hitting any hassle (gearbag died). Actually been over a year and a half without any hassle since putting the fresh box in. As with most it was fine until I started modding it!

The 5E hasn't given me too much hassle at all in over 22 months which is a bit worrying.. Thought she would have been in pieces inside the first week lol!

Mine's run for the past 4 and half years and not had one single problem thats put it off the road.

Mind you, mine's probably one of the many few unmoslested stock GT's in the UK and it's keeping that way :)

That's the key Dave - leave her alone and she'll leave you alone!

i had mine on the road 5 months before i decided its had enuff lol chewed up two turbos, wont idle properly, if in 2nd or 3rd nd leve the revs go lower than 2000 the car shakes violently like going to conk out, pulls to the left like no ones buisness under accleration but all this aside its my gt never failed to start or get me to where i needed to go!

Quite right, It's still on the original CT9 / actuator from new in Japan and holds boost right through the rev range :)

There comes a time when racing the local Fiesta's down the local bypass just does not bother you anymore, leave that to the track, the karting track especailly :)

I take care of it and it takes care of me :)

ive only had problems with the turbo tbh, the oil seals went. rest of the time i do work on it is just modifications.
my runabout has been fine apart from an iffy idle problem now and again, but it always gets me from A-B.

Been using mine as a daily for 4 years with no issues.
Encountered a couple of probs when having mods done but they have all been sorted within a week. :)

same here mine has had no engine work and is totally standard apart from coilovers and dont plan on doing anything to it would rather keep it standard to avoid any problems...:) my head gasket went but think its a common problem with GT's nothing else has gone wrong *touch wood* :)

Ive had an eventful year and cannot remember the last time i drove mine.

To start off with, the scottish members got Chris over for some mapping, couple of cars hit issues and my fuel pump was on its last legs during mapping. Got her back and got a new pump in.

Then an engine miss started, diagnosed it down to a leaking valve, took the head off and had to ground in a new valve and have them re-seated.

Sold my EMU and bought a Power FC and its not been mapped or set up to full power for about a year now, i was told on mapping its never ran 1.4bar, much to my anger of travelling all over the UK to get it mapped.

Bought another GT to save it from being stripped for parts and gave it a new life, while mine was neglected.

Failed its MOT on emissions :haha: which was expected and ive been sourcing most of the standard FPR parts since.

But its almost ready for its retest now and then maybe i can plan some mapping for this years events.

.

I can vouch for that idea - after having had my white V originally which i must admit had been messed with somewhat by a guy who didnt know what he was doing

other day i bought a mint example r reg V although its black its hardly been touched everything works as it shud including retracting mirrors - all im gunna do is swap parts over - leaving all standard wiring and everything as close to stock as possible and feed wiring loom through for the pfc -

that way its stil a minter with a brand new engine (and now my 4th starlet haha)
