Do you park where you're not suppose to on car parks?

Parent and Disabled spaces are at the front so that both have less distance to travel to the entrance. People always try and park as close as possible to the entrance. That means lots of cars, and potential for 'car park dents'. That's why you'll NEVER find me in any of those spaces. I'll be at the back (or somewhere) where there are no cars or stupid owners to threaten my paintwork.

Besides, it's also disrespectful to park where you shouldn't, especially in spaces designated for people who need them.

it really annoys me when people park where they shouldnt,

also why is there child spaces? i'm pretty certain when i was a kid (i had 2 brothers all within a couple of years age between us) and my parents and million others never had a problem with the parking spaces not being wide enough,

Never. I get quite annoyed when I see able people parking in disabled spaces. I also don't park in parent in child unless I have the daughter with me as I know how difficult it can be to get a child out of the car in a tight space.

i think you shouldnt park where your not meant to but i also think they are far too many child and parent spaces and probably too many disabled ones too.

after all more than 50% of the folk in the shopping centre have kids with them, what they need to do is make every space slightly wider and lose a few spaces overal, rather than these stupid child and parent spaces. and thats what we are currently designing into new car parks in NI as the child and baby spaces arent regulatory or even advised(whereas disabled access/and parking is)

So, we need to keep the disabled spaces, ditch the kid and parent ones, and widen the rest of the spaces slightly.

I never have or will park in a disabled space. I will park in a parent space though, because they are pointless.

i never park in the wrong spots, due to a few reasons.

1: my mom's an invalid so i know the hassle when some dickhead parks on the handycap spot and just walks away (pisses me off)
2: i live in a really quiet area and there is usually plenty of parkingspace. so no need to park in the wrong spot
3: loads of traffic cops check for wrong parking or unpayed parking, and i hate getting fined :p

4: i tend to do things by the rulebook so i don;t draw too much attention to my car as it allrdy stands out around here and i don;t want the wrong kind of attention. allthough the car gets loads of the right attention from peeps walking by :D

I know some of you really hate the parent and child spaces but it is really difficult to get your baby out the car with the new car seats for them which they have to have by law. Maybe thats why its harder nowadays. I've parked in a normal space when there hasnt been any left and someone parks close to you its impossible get the baby seat back in without having to move out the spaceinto the road etc.

And the parent and child spaces i park in are not near the store they are just wider spaces, there's nothing wrong with my legs i dont mind walking at all.

Don't fret it Kelly... Either they don't have kids, or they only have the kids on the weekend and have someone to help them. I'm sure if they were with the kids EVERY single day, they'd soon realise the virtues of a bit more room to help out...

good point. Overall I take Sam's attitude, I would leave the carpark if there were only disabled spaces left. I mean sure there could be 10 free ones but how do you know that 10 disabled people wont turn up while your inside? Their lives are difficult enough so any attempts too make life that little bit easier for them I totally support.

I guess so, I just hate the stigma that goes with these spaces. But i'd never wanna be responsible for a ding on somebody's door either.

i try to park my car either away from the crowd (less shopping trollies and kids)

or between new/expensive cars, usually the owners are more carefull with their cars. especially sports cars :)

My Mum is disabled and the amount of times she's had to walk a fairly long distance despite being barely able to is disgusting. You look in the windscreen of the 4x4's and things sitting in the disabled pay and not one of them has a badge, it makes my blood boil.

I have no respect for anyone who parks in one of those bays, I hope some disabled guy misjudges his space and smashes into yours when you're parked in one and then drives off.

I park as far from the entrance as possible, a bit of exercise never did anyone any harm and it means the car has less chance of getting damaged.

Does anyone else park in the middle of nowhere with about 50 free spaces and then come back 15 minutes later to 49 free spaces and someone parked RIGHT next to them though? I'll never figure that one out.
