This isnt a silly honda hater threadd, infact much the opposite so mods please dont throw this to the cookie monster.
I was just wanting to know how much ek9 owners rate their type r's and if they like them alot more than their starlets.
1) whats the handling like?
2) how hard are they to work on?
3) how much did u lads pay 4 urs and what grade r they?

As many of you know I sold my gt and bought a passat until next year when im 21 so that I can just runabout and stack sum cash for a serious jap car. An ek9, jordan, eg6 sir2 and silvia r at the top of my list.
thanks guys n girls

Come on buddy ... what you expecting posting it on a TOYOTA forum?

Again depends what you want.

Most folk from what i read who have an EK9 say they handle better and going from what Dan says, aftermarket parts aint cheap either.

lol! its just everytime a ek9 is mentioned people start throwin their wepr kits at each other :slap:. I'm just curious about ek9's as the ek9 owners on here have or still do own a gt or micra which will help me relate.

Surely you dont just want the positives, you want to hear if anybody has any negative comment/doesnt like them...but then you call them honda haters and disregard what they say?

my mate had an ek9 and simply put .. it was awesome!!

it handled like nothing else, my 200bhp glanza was on coilovers, quite low, lots of braces etc but his ek9 was just in another league, it was on cusco coilovers and cusco braced though! Build quality was far better as well, just felt so sturdy and 'together' .... if i didnt love the sound of boost so much i would have one for sure!

buy one mate, they look miles better than a teg imo too!

why not go to a honda forum and ask them?

because I was wondering how owners on here rate them as most ek9 owners on here own or used to own a starlet. Therefore they can tell me the pros and cons compared to their starlet if u get me

OKAY MY MATES NEGATIVES:

1. Have to rev the tits off it to get it going
2. Expensive to modify
3. Hard to extract power out of as from the factory already highly tuned.
4. Rear calipers tend to need refurbs.
5. Unless driven to the redline the vtec will drop off when changing gear.

POSITIVES:

1. Rare
2. Pure porn
3. Everyone loves V-TEC
4. A host of aftermarket parts
5. Handles so so nice
6. Good on fuel
7. Reliable

Hope that helps and now everyone may stop moaning

get your butt on an ek9 forum they are top fellas on there and will be happy to help regardless of the make model, year , colour, reg of your car
