Take it you resprayed the engine bay? Looks amazing.. Do you have a lot of mechanical knowledge? Really want to do this but.. But scared to even start.. Did you do the complete loom too? Absolutely love this. Project of the year... In my eyes it is. :)

yup, resprayed the bay, rewired the entire loom to tuck it away as much as possible. declutter the bay by removing the fuse box (is now in the glove box lol) battery moved to boot, wacher and coolant bottle moved. the metal plate that the battery sits on has been cut away. sooo many small mods.

this was my first engine rebuild i ever did. if you have some basic wrench knowlege and have plenty plenty of time and a cool head you can do this too. just need to do a LOT of research and recheck everything you do. list everything so you don;t miss anything. store every part with labels so you know where every part goes

best tool ever! : digital camera.
take hundreds of pictures of everything you are disassembling, every part you remove, take pics how it's supposed to be.
and once you get to rebuilding and aren't sure about something, just browse back through the pictures.
and it's also a nice diary of your build.

few pics of today with the finished result:

Absolutely stunning car mate. Fair play to you. Alot of hard work there but it has really paid off.

Stunning mate. Like all the little touches. Like the AFR in the cluster. What was your biggest obstacle? Anything you would have done differently?

Absolutely amazing! Can't even imagine how many hours/days/months you spent doing that!

What do you say to your insurance company as you started with just a standard starlet - and now probably have 300+ mods -)))))))

Got a bit confused with a power steering on the left side inside the engine bay - 1st time see a GT with the steering wheel on the opposite side!

The interior is mint, attention to details is awesome, I live everything is blue as well, but no chances to get so many blue bits like you've got.

Great job, keep it up!

P.S. - Put all the pics on the 1st page, start with what it was before - this way it would be better I think - you can edit your posts!
p.p.S. - You don't plan to put ABS?

outstanding!

other than the completely mind-dazzling job you've done on the engine and the car in general, i LOVE your camera. very crisp & clean pix with nice shutter control. i could even see you hadn't done your nails in a long minute.. :p hehehehe.. awesome is the least i can say.. :)

First post is allrdy pic heavy, have hundreds of pics since the day i got her and staeted modding. The steering wheel is on the left because i,m from holland. The gtt was never sold here so it's a conversion from stock 1.3NA engine. No abs, no powersteering. Keepinf her as licht as possible. made the dial cluster last winter, foegot to seal the dash and now the ink hazs faded... Oh well. Another thing to do :) hardest thing.. Hmmm. The loom i'd say. Took ages to do and ended up with a few faulty wires. So that was a bit of a dissapointment

i could make a topic with all the rebuild pics, would be a VERY long and VERY heavy topic, but if there is interest i could do that

map sensor, ATS, and a bad connection with the igniter coil. all sorted. but quite a hassle to find the faults. had to cut in my newly made loom and splice wires... was no fun cutting into the newly made loom. oh well
