Hi all,

It's a shame i haven't got to know you all and see you at meets and events upcoming this year, but it is with great regret to say i'll be breaking my Glanza now. :(

Having poured a cool gazillion £s into it to get it fixed and make it right, and eventually i was failed by my local toyota and subsequently the glanza has well and truly died. I took it to them with a suspected wheel/gearbox bearing issue, and they told me the noise was definitely coming from the gearbox so it'd need rebuilding... anyway, 20 miles down the road my engine (for want of a better word...) 'explodes'... i'm yet to have had it diagnosed but it is definitely NOT the gearbox! (the bloody thing sounds like it's on 3 cylinders when you turn it over and all the engine oil's emptied itself from the engine)

I've put (far)too much money into it to even consider having the engine rebuilt (again...last done 6,000 miles ago :( ), so i will be stripping it for parts and waving a sad goodbye to Glanza ownership.

I must say though, TGTT is a bloody awesome resource and i've never had any complaints with the people on it personally :)

So this is me signing out! ...apart from the breaking thread in the parts section when i get it all done!

 Ciao! :(

Shame, that Glanza in your avatar looks awesome.

Did you go to Llandow by any chance? I spy an orange sticker in the top O/S of the windscreen. :D

No - that's a JAE sticker! :D 2008!
Traitor!

Seriously though, why don't you see what is wrong with it before writing it off as bits? It might not be as bad as you initially think. I can understand what you're thinking though, I'm going through exactly the same with mine (Engine needs work, I need the car sold, but I begrudge spending any more on it). I'm facing a possible strip and rebuild, although I don't know what's up with it yet. I'm getting a leakdown test done on Friday to find out and see where I go from there.

I really would, but the time has come to be all grown up and get a house so i needed to get rid of the glanza, and the parts that come off it should make me a decent amount i hope :)

It just pains me to see it on my driveway now, so elegant but yet so very f***ed.

Its every modded car owners nightmare after spending loads and loads of cash only to have an engine go, even worse for the 2nd or 3rd time!

I can only hope that i will be more fortunate.

Nice car though and good luck for the future

Sorry to hear this dude. What a nightmare youve been through.

Good luck in the future.

Cant believe there vultures attacking already on this... dam pests. lol

The first time you rebuilt it was its built to standard spec and not forged? Also are you running a td04 on standard internals?

Its a shame really good luck with what ever you decide to move on to buddy :)

I must say dibs is the most childish thing iv ever seen on any forum, happens here loads.

What does dibs mean? nothing really. If i ever send any parts i'll sell to the first seller that has cash right anyway and doesn't bugger about

Well there may be a few people who have the cash waiting so when a for sale thread goes up and people call dibs it basically first come first serve. They seen it first so if they have the £££ then they can have it first as its only fair.
Now if they say dibs and dont have the £££ but someone else has the money then obviously you sell to the person with the £££.
