im sure a member on here got % readings from his ecu to his apexi avc-r by tapping 1 of the wires (ep82 manual ecu) he mentioned it only gave a reading of 0 or 100% on/off type tps if that wire could be found then im sure you can just put in 100% for the throttle position on the emu settings and it should work

someone slap me if that does not make sense

Makes perfect sence mate, in the parameters used in the previous thread the TPS is set to 90 ... but the throttle position is either open or shut i.e the value will be 0 or 100.

in my experience here, emb tapped to the map sensor reading and it performed as intended... the only prob is u wont get 0% trottle since map reading doesnt start wit 0v... hence, the reading starts around 20% throttle for 1000 rpm.

i just finished wired up emu but dont have the cable yet to ignite... im using the same set-up with emb, and looking forward for the emu performance... will try stting it up for bout a week...

will keep u all updated....

btw, i still dun have injector adaptor to combine with... will try and see how rich it will go before buying it... here it cost bout 79usd... damn expensive...

hmmm im not sure about that one then. Because Im using a normal USB cable? Maybe Im lucky lol. Can anyone else confirm that a normal one wil also work?

i have a question here and not sure if i might sound ridiculous....

in order to trim and add fuel, we need to have injector adapter rite? let say we didnt use it, it allows only add fuel...

if there are some points that we need to trim, can we compensate it at airflow map? means using both injector and airflow map to add and trim?

last nite i have ignited my gt... looks like everything ok... tested only on idle as it was raining and cant plug in my wideband....

i tested to add and trim in injector mapping and seems like its working for both functions and yet i have not use injector adaptor.... again, this is my initial test as i did not test it while driving and tuning....

will do the add and trim test tonite and full tune on weekend.... hope i may not need the injector adaptor for my set-up...

guys, yesterday i manage to test out on my emu... after few days didnt ignite, manage to start only at 1 crank... everything went well... so i drove and tune for cruising for bout 15mins... thn i stopped to refuel and suddenly i cant ignite.... check everything in order, there was spark and fuel sent in... sotware all ok... but i cant ignite anymore...

thn i checked all wires, all ok also.... thn i re-looped injector harness to direct set-up (didnt go thru emu), everything went well... i can ignite and drive as usual... i dun have tools to check my plugs...

so my question is, is it because of i didnt use injector adaptor? fueling too rich till overflow? or there are something else ive missed out?

well its a possibilty that uv accidentally hit the channels for the injectors..

in the parameters menu, have a look make sure that the injector channels are 2in -2out

other than that id just blame it on not having the i/j adaptor :)

i believed ive set to 2in 2out... so i'll put a blame on adaptor... will invest some money to try if its works...

guyz i been reading this thread but it have me a bit lost. I have a 94 starlet that has not variable TPS reading like the auto glanza. I also read that some guyz still got the launch control to work without the variable TPS using the signal from the stock map/air flow sensor. Now can any of u guyz that got it to work help me set mine up plz.

Questions:

1. Where exactly do u tap the GRAY WIRE (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR INPUT). Before the EMU or after the EMU/before the stock ECU?

2. How do you go about setting the MIN and MAX on the throttle tab and is it NORMAL or REVERSE?

3. The vehicle tab RPM Signal Type should be set to IGNITION SIGNAL?

4. Under the IGN tab for IGN Cut Setting's, start is like 5000 and put a tick in the adj box on the side of it,IGN Cut RPM is 7200 with no tick in the adj box Shift up left at zero, Throttle Position, IGN adjust and # of V.S. pulse should be played with a bit to get the right settings?

I would greatly appreciate any and all help on this issue guyz. Awaitinig any response.

1.) before the emu

2.) to set min & max on the normal tps wot u do is press the gas pedal till it hits min voltage.. normal tps is "reverse"

3.) yes

4.) basically its only a rough guide, if u want the emu to alter a setting u have to tick the box... there is no need to touch the shift up settings as those are not needed... the ideal vs pulse i found is 20.. as for timing thats up to u :)
