Alright, Ive tried hooking up the TPS from the EMU to connector 17 of my ecu (throttle position sensor) and it still doesnt work :(

There are also another two wires (throttle sensor pin1 and throttle sensor at idle). Could it be one of these?

i think the same issues i did asked hybrid on which tps sensor to tap wit since 82 doesnt have any....

i have another issue here.... i just bought emu frm a fren, to my supprise when i opened up the unit, the jumpers are different from the manual... i tried to look other manuals are still d same... i've yet to take the original manual to compare with... will have it next weekend...

anybody out there care to post pic of the unit for me to compare wit?

i'll try to upload mine tomorrow...

thanks

yo dude, not to sounds like a broken record, but the manual was updated when version 2.0 came out, ie when only EMU ver D was out... if u look very carefully near each jumper ull notice that there is a code ie like JP1 or JP13 etc, go by what is written on the board as the positioning is different...

oh & just for the record there are 5 EMU versions lol :p

Back to the EP82 TPS,

In the parrameters page, under throttle, should the values change when the accelerator is depressed?
Mine doesnt do anything, even if i switch it between, Normal and Reverse.

i think all 82 having the same problem... our tps is on-off type (if not mistaken)...

as kon recoomends not to use map sensor voltage reading as tps reading, any other choice we have in order to make our tps active?

kon, i have some doubt here after looking at the wires last nite....

1) what if i didnt use injector adaptor? - this coz im not sure whether is there any shop here in malaysia selling it

2) do we need to use ignition adaptor also?

3) knock using knock 2 rite since knock 1 is used for water temp?

thanks in advance

btw, i already found the jp# written at main unit... thanks..

hi so heres what i know:

1.) not all wireing is used, from memory from all the points i wired 14 wires.. u can see my diagram on earlier pages..
a.) 2 channel , make sure u have i/j adaptor no.2 & wire that on harness side
b.) knock sensor yes
c.) crank angle yes
d.) intake temp no, use water temp instead
e.) yes (read above)

2.) resonant 7.67

3.) no emu software is not supported by vista..

1.) it will run always towards the rich side for you & u will not be able to trim//add fuel propperly..
2.) ignition adaptor is not needed.
3.) correct :)

my '95 ep82 came auto and has a variable TPS
all late model auto ep82s as well as all ep91s have variable TPS

do u have any idea what the 82 boys can hook their tps signal up to.. i cant get my finger on it.. iv been screening the manual & still im not sure...so i dont wanna post up something which could waste ppl's time .. :(

they can use the map sensor signal. i checked the voltage before and after and it doesn't cause line resistance but is variable thus allowing the LC to come on.

hmmm... would it alter the map readings though?

but i guess since it doenst cause resistance it shouldnt affect the map?

so they could get a signal before the emu & hook it up to the emu.. that would be a good idea.. but id rather get a tps signal... i mean ffs if its there on the firewall & is pluged into the harness the damn ecu has to read it from somewhere lol...

thanks J ;)

I will also confirm that Launch control doesnt work on a manual EP82, Kon setup my settings for it and still no impact.

are you guys configuring the tps voltage properly in the TPS page?
u must adjust the high and low voltages and it should be fine, just u won't be able to use light throttle to get the car to ignore the LC
or as said above, just splice into the map sensor signal wire.

if u really really want launch control, get a resistor (to convert the car's 12v to 5v) and a switch and make your own 5 volt output to the emu and just flick on the switch when u wanna use launch control. go into settings and set the low to 0v and high to 5v and you should be good to go :D

Fur,

With the EP82, does the voltage for the TPS have to be pout in manually?
If so, whats the voltage settings? Open and closed.

im sure a member on here got % readings from his ecu to his apexi avc-r by tapping 1 of the wires (ep82 manual ecu) he mentioned it only gave a reading of 0 or 100% on/off type tps if that wire could be found then im sure you can just put in 100% for the throttle position on the emu settings and it should work

someone slap me if that does not make sense
