I have been in a civic type r ek9 as well as an integra type r and there is no way the civic type r did 0-60 in 5.7 secs it's impossible for a car with as low a torque figure to do that time the integra type r was faster but all the ek9's I have seen and they are quite rare are doing 15's saw one doing those times everytime at the 4 and rotary nats back in January 2008 down meremere and get pissed on by lots of other cars around Pukekohe at superlap has anyone seen the vid of the integra type r vs type r civic on youtube? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4XZ1XKPF1U
I was expecting more from a vtec tbh
They may be quick, but it's not easy to to add more horses.

Deano....... Sorry bud but you say the same thing every time...
No torque so cant do good 60 times?? You rev off the line at 5K and shift to 2nd gear hard and see what happens.... Will easily do 6 secs flats, 5.7 with optimum launch.....
Got mine dynod today and down a bit, made 170BHP..... Not sure why but hay... Will get mani/decat etc for it and use as some fun.......
Absolute ballox.
Sky is the limit. Stick a turbo on it for a start, readily available kits for these too.
Dan you dont have to own both to be able to make a comment. Ive driven a standard ITR DC2 and was very disappointed with it. There are many people who buy hondas and other cars for that matter and then come back to Starlets, its down to personal preference.
There is no denying that the EK9 and the DC etc are very well built motors but personally I wouldnt touch one as they dont really do anything for me - its a personal choice.
Also to compare a starlet to the civic or the Integra for handling and general feel is like comparing the civic or integra to an evo... the evo is a more advanced car chasis wise and handling technology is very advanced. I could put my hand in my pocket today and get one but they really do not interest me which is why I am on a toyotagtturbo.com forum
The next car for me will be a supra and regardless of what people say about there being better cars out there for the money... Ive driven one and it made a starlet and a civic feel like a smart car. If you have deep enough pockets you can have whatever power and handling you want but the "this car is better than that car" arguement is a bit silly because if you go on you tube you will see civics flying past supras and supras flying passed ferraris etc.. respect all is what I say. And I would be hesitant to big my car up too much before I got it on the track because there are some fairly ferocious starlets on this site and more importantly in my opinion... very good drivers.
