The Jamaican record for a 4E was 323whp. That car runs a t3 and on 100 octane fuel. Its a drag car, nothing more.

The highest horsepower 5E is a mystery. However, the highest recorded 5E was 361whp.

Bhp

We just finished mapping one last night and then it was took to the rollers it made 325 at the fly and is capable of a lot more.Boost was very conservative at 1.6.It's built to take over 2 bar.Traction is a slight problem.:haha:

Cruise made 340ps and 320ps, on two 4E's at 1.4bar and 1.2bar respectively on a TD05-18G, so by no means pushing it

Depends on the engine specs, 1.4bar could well have been pushing it if the engine was high ish compression.

but certainly there would be more left in the turbo for sure.

great result Trevor, this peteys gt?

It must be to achieve that sort of power on a low boost level to be honest

well dan ep82 has 337bhp at the fly with 1.8bar on a vf22, stock intake and just a set of speedvision cams, if it had mega headwork, nice inlet and larger throttle body with more boost it would see over 350 easily i think. Very laggy though

yeah exactly, glad you see that i wasnt disagreeing, just its a point.

we seem to forget about headwork and compression in the uk. everyone just says, the stock cams are fine up to xxxhp and whack a 1.6mm hg in and it'll be grand.

350bhp are easilly achivable using the right part combination, set up,tune, and turbo selection.
The reall problem (wich you can solve if you have deep pockets) just start from this level and up.
no lag=no turbo

Definitely - it seems to be a very unilateral way of going about an engine build, and its definitely not what I'm basing mine on :p The only worry obviously is being able to keep detonation at bay with the increased C/R, but seemingly people are overtly cautious to the point of not even considering it

I'd love to see the full specification of what the Cruise cars ran - if its the same pistons they still sell well its pretty much a stock C/R piston, probably using a stock thickness headgasket too...hmm

thats good though as the 4e is low comp to start with lest we all forget ;)

problem with big boost is deffo det, as cylinder pressures get way high. would have to sacrifice a lot of ignition advance i would imagine and the fuelling would have to be very high at the top end to keep egts down... please correct me if i am way off as i am not a tuner but just using basic logic here!
