that cutting is abit xtreme lol stick a mk2 bumper on it
It was a right bastard to get to fit behind the Tom's.
Looks like it doesn't happen behind the Mk1 AT ALL.
Shame bud, the mk1 bumper's are like rocking horse poo.
Thats some extreme bumper cutting there mate lol!
Just been reading the Epic Fail thread.
Your bumper cutting pic would fit in their!!!
FAIL
Replacement bumper seems the best option buddy.
Not sure why everyone thinks there is less room behind a mk1 bumper TBH. I've fitted a WEPR frontmount to both mk1 and mk3's and found the mk1 actually required less cutting..
The HDi looks very close to the Blitz kit from your pictures. Certainly the piping looks similar. Maybe other HDi users can post some pics of how theirs sit? Then you can see how to approach the bumper trimming.
I'll see how I get on fitting a Blitz FMIC with a mk1 bumper before I comment further. Might be tempting fate otherwise!

lingl9z- have you kept the air con?
these hdi kits are 2.5 x the size of the blitz/autobahn kits, the mk1 bumper requires less cutting with other fmic's because the slats arent no where near as thick the mk2 bumpers
if you got rid of the aircon you can actually push the cooler back that bit more.
I've still got aircon, so had to cut a fair amount from the bumper to get it to fit around the core, but had no clearance issues with the pipes.
Did you mount the cooler with the lower brackets provided? I did drill extra holes in the lower brackets to bring the bottom of the cooler in towards the engine, saved a bit more of the bumper that way.
I'd say get hold of a mk2/3 bumper, remove your aircon and re-mount the cooler before you start any cutting. Hopefully then your front bumper wont look like a mustache.
