i dont class over-rated to mean what a load of fan-boy 18yr olds say is amazing, i go on how the car was reviewed be people that know there stuff and what the car was designed to do and compete with.

the thread was referencing cars that individuals believe are overrated in general, not by specific age groups etc so agree to disagree as you cant be right or wrong on this one because it is simply personal opinion.

If you like the cars then thats your opinion and I have no problem with that. I personally think they are a good car too but nothing more than that, a good car. I have no experience with the owners of Honda's that you have met and I very much doubt that I ever will since we live in two different countries. All I said was that the vast majority of Honda owners in the Republic, that I have met, over rate their cars. I never said anything about basing my statement on the 18 year olds who drive Honda's because in Ireland it is nye on impossible for an 18 year old to insure a Type-R Civic, the vast majority of Type-R owners that I have encountered are 22 to 28 year old males (same goes for Integra Type-R owners for that matter).

I am not saying you are wrong, merely stating that from my experience, the Type-R Civic is a very over-rated car having heard what has been said about them and actually driven the exact cars, about which, these statements have been made.

They're ill handling, unreliable and the gearchange feels like something off of a worn out Massey Ferguson.

yeah its kinda tough to say all ferraris are overrated. I drove a 575m and it was a beast, lovely inside/outside and was certainly what I expected it to be and more.

im not really up on supercars but ive been a passenger in a ferrari 360 and a porsche (unsure of the model) and i can say that the porsche would munch it no problem at all. but id still have the ferrari for the sound alone lol.

overall over rated car for me would be the new civic type r (triangle exhaust) gorgeous on the inside but not too keen on performance.

i think a lot of people on here will say hondas because we are all starlet lovers at the end of the day. we like boost, and turbos, lol so a powerful torquey punchy turbocharged starlet is always gna be a hard act to follow for an n/a car

edit: sayin that i still wish i cud drive an ek9 or a dc2 at their limits round a track. just to see what the handlings like

toyota prius, ita an electric peice of shit, if you wanted a 'town car' which is very boring and saves you money take a fucking bus.

all the celebs have them, there a fashion icon to show you that there doing there thing for the enviorment, but if you look closely its parked inbetween the hummer h3 and there aston martin db9 in there garage.

so your going by what everyone else is saying?

You need to have driven a car before you can say its over-rated. Ferraris, awsome cars, how can you say there over rated when there rated as one of the best manufacturers in the world, that produce the BEST cars in the world

I think a car i found underrated is the glanza s. My not have the power of the turbo but i found it much more fun to drive than my v.
Maybe because it was harded to find the cars limits and rev the tits off it on any road i dunno.....

I agree witht he new Civic type R
My best mates got one, and the interior is sexy (head unit is gash)
but the power was weak, and I have driven it, didnt feel like it compared to my glanza.

Oh well they arent being made in the uk any more :p

225bhp standard and enough if you ask me.. one of the most well balanced fwd cars ive ever driven and thats coming from a man that doesnt like fords... ferrai's are balls of shit but thats only my opinion... very unreliable and costs 4 grand at every service!! my brothers mate had 2 and they broke his heart.. one went on fire (360 spider) the f430 kept on melting the back bumper and electrics eventually went tits up on it.. sure they are all a very pleasent car to look at but even the build quality is shit on them..

Pokey enough and decent handling but leaves you feeling like you werent driving a Honda.I dont know how to put it into words exactly,its everything rolled in from the interior looking odd in a honda,the gear stick which reminds me of a Renault van,the exterior always reminds me of a Honda Jazz which looks shit imo and it just didnt feel as raw.

As for the DC2,EK9 and the SiR and VTI's..
I dont think they are an over rated car in terms of doing what they're built for.They're just over rated in doing whats expected of them.
