people (including me) break them for the following reasons:

They never really understood:
how much money could be spent
how much time could be spent
that nearly everything is uprateable and once you pop you cant stop

They're sick of:
the countless number of problems you encounter
having no money to spend on anything else
having no time to do anything else

They realise:
I will never get back the money I spent
If I break it I will get the majority of money back
I could of bought a "nice/newer/fast" car for the money ive spent
I could of even payed the insurance on that "nice/newer/fast" car for the money ive spent

:p

I believe the best/budget thing you can do, is keep standard turbo, get a manifold, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, fpr, front mount intercooler, front mount air filter, get an ecu and get it mapped at 1bar, and you'll have a big smile all day for around £1500 :D

basically got my car as i wanted, then drove it for a bit, had some really little issues with it after using it and that pissed me off enough to get rid,

You'll just have to get rid of the baseball cap , gold chain & celtic top.
shirt and tie FTW !

i
the problems you had with the last car were hardly anything majour,

i dont mean to single you out rumel you seem like a nice enough fella, but you do talk and dream a lot on the site, and to be fair everything you said you would do/want to do hasnt come to fruition,

i'm sure there are others that do this on the site but for some reason you stand out more than most.

QUOTE]

Nothing majour? Failed m.o.t on many things and would of cost over 2k to replace everything and not to a high spec i wanted....

Moneys never an issue for me, i dont want to brag about it but its not due to funds i broke the car but due to it having one problem after another.....

I dont dream, if you look at my very first thread i put up on this site my first aim was to achieve over 200hp and i achieved it

Idrees as been to my garage and seen i have a few cars atm with projects on, my astra, saxo vtr, mk2 golf and almera gti.

One of the main reasons i broke the car was due to nt having time for it due to personal reasna and buying my house, i dont even have time to strip the car hence why idrees cam and took the gearbox off himself the other day.

And dreams? hhhmmmm where have i dreamed? only thing i said i was going to do was a forged td04 hybrid HOWEVER due to the car failing m.o.t and picking a different set up im going to be going 5e.

I dont chat crap and have "fake dreams" where i wish i had mods. Total cost on my starbo was approx 11k (including buying the car) and i did that while my mk2 golf was under going its vr6 conversion and the saxo's fresh paint job.

I dont detail these projects as some people dont like my taste in the other cars i have got and think its chavy but i like them tbh...

Il upload a few on my golf project i have going on once im home on my laptop.

But dont say i dream as im not a dreamer.....

people break them because its the journey that excites them, seeing the car evolve, solving problems and the odd 'o my god its fast now!' moments. its never enough though, yesterdays fast is just ok today.

ive gone from an ep to other so called fast cars and back again , eps are easy to work at and tuneable, and also not a honda.

Can understand if you get more money for the car, but to break a car you spent so much time and efort on rather than sell it on is crazy, its like destroying it, all the hard work is for nothing. would much rather think my ep is still rolling than been crushed.

ive never broken any of my cars that ive modified over the years.. i would rather sell it than break it, the time spent on building the car is more important to me than the money spent on it.. you will never be able to get the time back you spent putting the damn thing together, i would rather see someone else enjoy something that ive created than just rip it apart to make a bit of extra money.. :homer:

its just a car at the end of the day, think its abit childish to say you would rather destroy it than see someone else drive it LOL

started breaking mine because i was tired of the problems with it & no one wanted to buy it for the price i felt it was worth. But i decided to hold onto it now, less a load of parts :homer: think im just going to hold onto it for a while as i want to try out other cars but have a feeling i'll always regret it if i sell my GT.

Was using it as an everyday car which was the main problem, was no good to me when it was broken 6 out of 7 days & costing me a fortune in parts just to keep it going. I think im going to build it up again slowly & buy another car for a daily and see how that goes. Sure it'll be up for breaking again in the future unless when the time comes someone actually buys it!
