    Difference between solid and sprung....

NO, what the hell do you figure that? The less paddles the clutch has, the rougher it is, and the faster it grabs. A TRD 3 Puck clutch is one of the worst clutches to drive on the road. 5 puck is what i would go for on the road. Also the heavyness on the foot is governed by the clamp force...

turning a cat into a decat

There is a difference between gutting a cat and a proper decat. If you are trying to save as much money yes you can do it, but it wont give you the performance you are really after. Ivan

    what strut braces??

most of those braces perform the same way. Braces will improve handling and rigidity by 10parts of fuck all. Get a rear swaybar, shocks, anti lift kit and then you will be more stirdy... Also FENDER BRACES are very good to get for the starlet as they are fairly weak in that area. Ivan

    n/a and turbo brake calipers

They are different callipers, and they are different calliper brackets, and they are also different disks. EP91/SR disks are smaller making the calliper brackets different (because they sit the disks closer to the centre of the hub) EP91/SR disks are thinner making the callipers different...

    Seam Welding...??

it all depends what you are using the car for. If its a daily driver then dont bother wasting your time. If you are entering it in races then get a cage, and in saying that get it seam welded. Ivan

    Difference between solid and sprung....

The springs in the center of the clutch disc are there primarily to soften the engagement of the clutch. This also serves to minimize the shock loads the driveline might see in normal use. Solid Centre clutch disks are used for racing purposes, and provide a more consistent drive, however do...

    need help after changing clutch

is the nut coming loose? if so then the chances are it is your wheel bearings that need replacing aswell. Otherwise tighten it a bit and put the split pin through it. Also check to make sure your hubs are bolted to the control arms correctly, and everything else is tight. ivan

    CT9 rebuild

you will have slop because its a bush bearing. When they fill up with oil, the slop will go away. Prob is that is when your car is running. As for the slop when completely assembled, and freshly built turbo can have between 0.5-1.0mm of movement from side to side, but no movement in or out...

    Ct9 Hybrid

CT12a or CT12b and CT9 are not the same size wheels, not by a long shot! For anyone in the USA and wants a great turbo, do the following. Get a rear housing off a CT9, thats all you need. Then get a ct12b turbo off a US spec Supra. This is because the US Spec supra comes with a steel rear...

Let talk turbochargers, dare to be diffrent? See here for your options

Celica's and Supra's both use CT26 turbo's. They are quite big, as mentioned before you are better off getting a T2 turbo. Many new turboes to choose from at cheapish prices, plus anyone can rebuild them and they come in ballbearing. I have used TD04 and VF turboes and was not happy with...

just picked up (new) old starlet need advice

It all comes down to money... but if its reliability you want, then get a rebuild kit from toyota, and buy some new pistons from toyota. Re-assemble it and you have your new reliable motor to last plenty of kms/miles. If you want to start boosting your car, well you can do it lightly and...

    upgrade to ct26

CT26 is quite a large turbo compared to the CT9. If you were wanting to upgrade to that size turbo i would suggest a T25. You will have many options to upsize/downsize without changing manifolds/water/oil/decat and on most you wont have to change inlet/outlet pipes on the compressor side. And...
