sheldon....the one dac69er put up is the same as the one i put up in the link,,,,,as i was saying, the damper is at the back (while the link i gave shows a front end view)

also, the front pulley/piece on the 4efe pulley (the ones i've seen) can be removed without taking off the entire pulley,,,,this comes in very handy sometimes

hope that clears it up for u

just a question on the crank pulley if you put a ep82 pulley onto a ep91 will it affect timing or anything like that?

Nop...has nothing to do with the timing. You may notice a different engine response tho...due to the additional weight. Most people will notice nothing...you must feel you engine to understant such a small difference in responce times.

as chris said... the pulley only drives alternator / water pump / powersteering

nothing to do with timing.

I am not sure if the chip in the pulley will cause as much of a deteriation in bearings and crank life as feared.

I agree it is not ideal for it to be "unbalanced" due to the bit missing, but it would take a long time for the affects to be seen internally.

The damper in the pulley is to protect the crank from the affects of the engine, not the other way round.

I would still change it sometime Sheldon, but I would still drive mine if it was like that. Have a read here.

all the crank pulley's on my 2 gt's and 3 engines have all had chipped crank pulleys,

i've never had an issue.

my engines have died of other causes NOT because the crank was out of balance because of a slight chip in the pully
