Well, where do i start......

I cant thank Chris and Jay enough for the dizzy and coil, after mine decided it didnt want to work on Friday morning...

With the 2 parts replaced, it fired into a lumpy idle then cleared a good bit.

A bit of advice,

DONT BUY SPEEDVISION CAMS!!

There the most useless things you will ever do to your EP, and the most time wasting thing to boot.
I wish i had listened to Chris when he told me to get them out, but me being me, kept them in thinking it was something else.
Oh how i was wrong....

Apart from that, i had a fine day, even if i was full of the cold, a good days banter with stories etc

Ill post a video of what i do with the cams through the week

I think there are some new spec cams that are impossible to time up the exhaust valves. I know Ted is on his second set and it's still not working so he's most likely going back to stock cams.

The older spec seem to be fine.

Im having problems with my timing too, Im sure Rory has the cams where all the timing marks line up. But i would have to agree with Rory, Dont buy them.

Not when Chris can do Zero with the car because of the cams after Rory left at like 4.30am and spent the whole day 200+miles away.

Jay those are cracking pictures, i shouldve brought a bucket and sponge for mine, the dust from the Mintex pads piss me off :haha:

I now have to go and take more time to swap the cams and re-shim the bugger to get it running.
Then its either see if Chris is coming over, or ill be taken a trip to Ireland for mapping.

As far as im aware and think, the lobe angle from the dowel pin is wrong, hence it will not fire when needed.
I never received a data sheet either, so i assumed and told it was standard marks to go for.
Ill see what this data sheet says before i go and do anything.

thats very strange rory.. but one thing i know is 99% of billet or reground cams on the 4e cannot be used with a custom timing sheet as we only have one cam gear.. so if the stock cam timing cant be used, they are well....... pretty fucking useless

All marks line up spot on, but the thing will just not run.

Seems like standard cams it is, basically fed up wasting time on them.

i woould only go for cams if i was to run massive boost, custom inlet and race ported head. They would then be lairy ones!

I have 270 deg, 10mm lift cams in my 993cc Charade GTxx and all they seem to do is raise the powerband nearly 1000rpms!
