they are thinner than 5efhe rods but if you use a 1.2mm metal gasket or even 1.4 you will still be fine

but i dunno if i have them still ill have to look

I'll take loads of photos and document my build. I wish I did this before hand. But oh well!

Just waiting on matey to open the garage up for me. I'm hoping I don't find any more problems with it. We shall see.

I've seen that :) thanks for that! It looks like they are only the efe rods not the efhe rods...

I've just got the engine out. Will be a process to get it stripped down to find the full extent of the cock up.

The caps on the rods were only torqued to 15nm. Not 29

you means the ones that were in yours are not FHE as they were advertised ?? - thats shit if so

if your rods are scored ill give you them for a decent price to get you goin mate -

when you strip it throw some pictures up of the rods pistons and big end journals/bearings.

you should be sorted with a crank now too so all you should need is a set of bearings which are £100 - so you can be back up and running for under £250

that aint bad going just make sure its built right properly - cant believe they were only half what they were supposed to be - were they all equally torqued ???

I've got the sump off. And got the rods unbolted from the crank, so its just taking the main caps off and then dropping everything out. This will be my job for tomorrow.

Then strip the gearbox out too.

I hate this bloody car
