yeah the law in this country really is a joke. go out get attacked defend yourself get arrested get a warning for assault with a weapon with no weapon other than your hands.... bulllshit!! a couple years ago a guy broke into the yard at my house one weekend my parents were away i heard a noise in the yard so i went to check and found a guy in the process of breaking into the shed my dad had all his tools in. picked up the nearest thing to hand which happened to be the shaft of a pick. i hit that cunt as hard as i could.it was dark so he didnt see where it came from but either way once he was able to walk he crawled down the lane. i didnt call the police as i thought theyd do me for assault. but never had any other problems. lucky enough he was by himself in hindsight but for sure he had a couple weeks were he couldnt sit down.

but yes jay youve offered now.....hehe

Chris I lover your husky! I hate the way the law works sometimes to. Tbh, U never know how u will react if someone is in or trying to enter ur house. Ur mouth goes dry, u panic like fuck and your main focus is protecting your family. Il never forget in my old house I went downstairs 4 a drink bout 1.00 in the morn, stood over the sink drinking it then nearly choked when I saw some crazy bastard walking up towards patio doors in the backgarden. We both froze for a second then he bulleted back over the fence! I never caught the fucker :(. probably lucky i didnt :slap::slap::slap::freddy:

Makes me angry just reading this. The Law in this country is fucked. I don't care what they say, if someone breaks into my home, they better be faster than Usain Bolt and if they aren't they will get a good beating. They can run to the police all they want, I will do time for defending my family but I will make sure they don't come back again.

They will have to get through these two nutters first anyway

Some lovely dogs on here

In Ireland, If the intruders are even caught red-handed by the Gardai they might be taken to court but the punishment they get is nothing worse than a slap on the hand.

I was broken into before xmas but since that I have my bedroom stocked up with weapons;)

If I catch them again, They will get a bat over the head and dumped into the back of the van. They will be savagely beaten up and threw into a forest about 15 miles from my house. People might think that is a little bit harsh but it will be done. They are so many robberies around where I live. Gardai have been given such good evidence of who one of the burglars where and did nothing about it.

I will be taken the law into my own hands next time an intruder comes into my home.

Lol Dylan, moved on from drugs and now trying to justify the use of firearms, borderline murder? "In the right hands", I honestly think some of your views are completely mad, yet you also share many that are completely sane.

There are problems in the law, this is one of them, I'd much rather for no one to be carrying any weapon. The thought of youths carrying knives is bad enough, often it can take one stab wound, or one shot for someone to bleed to death.

Your mate will be fine in court, but it shouldn't even get that far!

The young guy is in the process of theft, could potentially cause physical injury, so he has the right to arrest him.
How was your friend to know he wasn't carrying a weapon? How was he to know that there was no intention to halm? You wouldn't take the risk.

Regardless of the apparent risk; if the beating this guy gave to the intruder was both unprovoked and excessive then he could very well be charged with battery.

I think its disgusting that in most, if not all cases the CRMINAL has more rights than that off the inocent party.

Take the case of the farmer who shot that lad who was trying to break into his property. I'm right on the side of the farmer that you should be able to defende yourself from attacks and break ins.

The criminal deserves no rights what so ever and deserves any beating given to him, especially if they break into your house trying to steal your belongings.

Situations like that make it even more inviting for the offender to break in because he knows he has the law on his side if he gets attacked.

It's stupid and if I were to change the law it would not be that way around.

Criminals deserve no sympathy whatsoever and if they get shot breaking into somebody's house I will be the first to buy that man a cup of tea for defending his property.

Bloody hate criminals, sub human scum the lot of them.
