Aga im very intrested in the toms spoiler, do you have a rough price for it and do you think you will be doing any standered spoilers in carbon fibre?

yes guys, thats what i'm doing at the moment, working full time on the garage, finishing up the stuff i had already scheduled. tomorrow i'm demolding the original tom's bumper i had, so now the bodykit is complete. I'll probably register as a trader in here, since i have a standalone ecu deal on the works that many people in here might find VERY tempting. i'll keep you guys posted. The tom's wing i'm looking for selling it at 600 euros posted, when it's done i'll put it on the classifieds.

coming very soon : carbon starlet Gi bonnet.

hey guys , havent posted here for so long, but we re making so much stuff that its madness around the garage. I'm finishing up a Yaris (vitz) 1st gen bonnet for a local group buy that weighs 2.8 kg! yep, thats right. carbon on the outside and carbon kevlar on the inside. As soon as it's in a presentable state im gonna post it here. After that, it's EP2 Gi bonnet time. Many half finished projects will also be posted as soon as they are finalised. I'm also working on the turbo conversion for my ep82, which will signal the start of it's respray and bodykit work. anyhow, heres a pic so this post will not be "dry". It's really frustrating that you're not thinking about this as a bussiness :)

I think you could make an utter fortune & many members very happy indeed :)

since i had to measure things up to make mounts for the intercooler so it can sit flush with the tom's bumper, i had to make a bumper pronto. so i opened up the "great bag of leftovers" and made a budget (if you could call it that) carbon-kevlar-carbonkevlar-fiberglass bumper.

here it is during the layup process...you can see all sorts of different fabrics... i mainly put kevlar in the most "dangerous" collision areas

and when it came out of the mold... the big air dam is left over carbon on purpose, it will be unpainted.

and after it's been trimmed.

the screw mounts have up to 7 layers of carbon ;)

it came out unexpectedly light, 4.2 kg... as far as i can remember the genuine toms was 6 kg... anyway that was a budget build, if i was to make a serious part, it would be a lot stronger , and i bet around 3kg...

amazing, the quality of all these parts your making is unreal. That GI bonnet looks so nice.

i was thinking about having a go at covering some of the interior pieces in my starlet and i saw this kit what do you think of it?

yeah i know that brand... for the hobbyist who just wants to cover some stuff , like you do, it's ok. before you try stuff on anything "serious", try using it on some junk.

always do what the instructions say, and be warned..you are gonna sand your ass off in order to get it perfect. this process is called an "overlay" and its a pain in the ass...it takes days to do a part. after you lay the carbon down and put your first resin, you ll have to let it dry for a day, sand it down a little (so you wont mess the fibers) and apply resin again. same thing, 5-6 times (days), until you have enough thickness to sand it totally flat, without touching the fibers. after that you clearcoat it with a spray can. good luck.

thanks for the info dude, when ive got some more spare time i think i will have a go. If i end up using up something in the kit where would i get more carbon fiber or resin ect?
