What is a p-sports glanza?

Yup.

The EVO RS came with no goodies whatsoever, as they were intended for racing, so the cheap interior would've been binned anyway!

They also came with shit brakes, no PIAA fogs, a non-AYC diff, keep fir rear windows and a few more minus'.

Pub chat dictates that oooooooooooooooooohhh it's an RS, therefore it's better, when actually, it's a toss version of the GSR :)

2 completely different cars dude -_-

no, both are cheaper versions of the original cars, with no luxuries,

yes 2 completely different cars, but both made for the same reasons,

so why the p sport glanza poverty spec, yet the evo rs isnt?

the evo was built as a rally spec car

the p sports was built to be an entry level car with no luxuries

Less weight!;)

Most people seem to think it was poverty spec but does anyone know if they were actually cheaper to buy than a normal Glanza V?

il take my passanger seat off and spare wheel then and it will be a p sport ! :D

tell me what is done to the evo as a performance upgrade? its lighter, same as the p sport

no, the evo was built as a lightwieght version, with less stuff in, to make it easier/quicker to take rallying.
same could be said for the p sports, toyota didnt put anything in it, so that any wannabe/amature racers would buy it with less to do to get it to track spec, same as the evo

P-Sport Variant

allow me to revive this thread and share my 2 cents worth. despite most calling the p-sport a poverty spec version of the glanza range, i disagree.. :) lots of performance mods are available with this variant depending on when/where you purchase yours.

i'm the proud owner of one and i got the following strapped on already when the car landed; blitz LM air element, kakimoto racing exhaust, air-con, front ARB, recaro bucket seats and other small bits here and there.

true it doesn't have central locking, power windows/folding mirrors and no clock, and that the interior is a little lean on luxury.. but those are some things you can live without. i've added quite a few bits & bobs & it's an ultimate drive. i'm sorry but as jeremy clarkson says, having a p-sport on the drive and not driving it is a bit like having keira knightley in your bed.. and sleeping on the couch..! :p
more mods coming soon but you can view progress so far from my project: knightrider album.. :D

not a hope it came from the factory like that.. back then ud notice the difference between the "p-sport" and a standard glanza but these days you wouldnt cause the modding scene is gone through the roof.. these days id prefer electric windows, a better interior and central locking over a light weight version that people sell for more money.... silly!

how much weight does a p-sport version actually save in comparison to the "luxury" glanza v..? anyone know and have proof..?

probably about 40kg lol.
Agree with corofin, I would prefer one with all the gadgets on, and if I wanted it lighter, ditch the seats and spare wheel you'll be lighter than a P-sports version, and you'll still have electric windows/mirrors etc.

@AdamB: i'd say you can only ditch your passenger seat and spare wheel if you are into split-second racing & need to shed as much load as possible.. otherwise those are stuff you need for a daily/trip driver, just like power mirrors & windows. i still add though that you can live without them, because it's not like the p-sport does not have windows or mirrors.. it just has manual ones.. :D
