I would wait for their forum rep to come on and see what has to say. If you dont get the response you want then I would seek legal advice on the matter.

I feel our valued members deserve the best service and as such will be watching this matter with interest... we wouldnt tollerate any seller on here treating our members in such a manner and I think the same should apply to people offering services.

anyone else got any opinion on this?

I think that it's pretty pointless discussing it until Sky Insurance has had a chance to discuss it in person. I know it's a shitty situation to be in so hopefully you can reach some sort of agreeable outcome.

Ask them to review a copy of the telephone conversation to prove your correct. If they've 'lost it', submit a formal complaint. Under FSA guidelines, Sky Insurance will have to reply to you if you submit a complaint. If they do not resolve it to your satisfaction, you can refer it to the insurance ombudsman.

Basically, threaten, whinge and moan, and then go for their throats via the FSA/Ombudsman if they don't play ball...

No probs mate... To be honest, I'd say that you've been mis-sold your policy. Throw that in to the frame as well, and see how they react. If you need any info on where to look for help via the FSA/Ombudsman, my wife is a broker, so will be able to point you in the right direction...

To be honest I never thought this Sky Insurance offered decent value for money cover anyway - dispite the claimed discounts?!

Try bell.

Bell or Elephant ftw.

i phoned elephant and admiral any they won't cover GT's or Glanza's as they are "grey imports".
i dont understand how people on this site can be covered by them.
they said if it not on the system they won't touch it.
i am insured with sky and had no bother. had a cover note 2 days after i got my insurance.

Adam really sorry to here this, I have had a short dealing with Oily when my insurance was up for renewal and he was very helpful… The price was a joke but both he and his team did what they said they would do.

I really hope you get it sorted insurance is the one thing you don’t need messing up!! Try not to worry they have sold you something wrongly and therefore they will have to sort it out…

Might be an idea to give your local citizens advise people a call just for info sake if nothing else here is a link just to help you out…

I passed my details on to Sky for a quote and they could not even quote me when I called, even thou I had already passed on my details and situation.

Getting some cracking quotes from other companies thou, with all mods declared! So their loss. LOL

Hope you get it sorted thou mate. I company tried this on me once! I rang for a quote on my Glanza before I bought it. Quote was decent so I went and bought the car! On the day I bought it, I rang to sort the insurance out and they told me I was not old enough to insure it! I blew my top and they insured me in the end because they had already agreed previously.

Nightmare.

admiral / bell are basically the same company, and both refuse to insure glanzas, even tho they do insure gt turbos easily?

they say because its not on there books they cant do it.. fair do's.

thats why i went to sky, and to be honest for my situation it was a good quote, and i dont think ill get much better, but thats the problem it was almost too good to believe!

will be caling them again today and trying 2 sort it out

just called them and spoke to a manager there..

basically there excuse is because there policys get referred threw to there underwriters that the policy is taken with, it can take a few days or in my case weeks to "flag up" potentially costly policy holders.

so in this case they can refuse to insure you what they quoted.

dont know where i stand to be honest, but if this is the case and they can so easily refuse i would hate to see what they will be like if i wanted to make a claim!

unfortunately i dont think i will ever try sky insurance again

Adam that’s complete crap I am with Keith Michael with there underwriters being high way in my case..

Surley they can’t any take payment for something they can not provide!! Every time I change or adjust something on my policy they talk to the underwriter there and then!!

Are they going to give you a refund as surely the insurance for TFF is a lot less than fully comp??

I would strongly advise you to call citizens advice to give you an idea of where you stand as they will be able to provide you with the facts
