As said damage doesnt look too bad and doesnt look like there is any really chassis damage even if there is its easily fixable.

Also when it's a garage the insurers appointed they take the piss, changing the door on mine would have been 400 for a new one supplied and fitted but then the whole side would of needed spraying to match the colour @1100 - Insurer's do allow you to go to another garage and get quotes and if it's within an amount they'll use them.

Tell the insurance company that you can get it fixed for 3500 pounds. They might give you 3500 and you get it fixed yourself.

If that where over here in Ireland it would be fixed properly for approx 700 euro imo.

Your well within your rights to get your own estimates mate. Don't listen to your insurance company when they try to tell you it has to go to the garage they choose, It's still YOUR property and the thing to do would be to take it to a load of places to get quotes.

Most insurance companies use rip-off repair companies like Nationwide ... who will want to replace everything possible and charge silly labour rates. From an insurance companies point of view it's much easier to write a car off and be done with it, so do some research as to what you can get it repaired for yourself.

tow it / bend the mudguard so it wont rub

its a honda thats why its expensive, al taking into account there might be jigging involved, inner panels needing replacement, wheel arch, wings headlamp labour, paint, materials the list goes on. also rememeber theyre pricing brand new parts from honda aswell.

Did you buy that car from a valeter i edinburgh? if so thats gutting really as this car was always spotless
