hmm the thought " sell it" comes to mind lol... if its still new im sure many ppl that dont have the emu will want the bee*r ;)

i was about to do the same as u but i didnt want to give up, as i found it stupid that the bee*r & the emu both cut igntion, yet one works & the other doesnt.. so i knew there had to be either some kind of circuit or setting to get ti working...

this thread is one of the most productive iv seen in a looong time on tgtt.com :D

true say

yeah i just wired it in but not used it yet as the cars bin in garage for a while should be out very soon

so just to confirm i just have to swap the RPM SIGNAL to IGNITION on the parameters menu and then put my rpm limits in or does it have to be 4k rpm as youve done

ragz you can set it to whatever RPM you want for the two stage, no need to set it to 4k. after all 4 thousand RPM moving at 8psi on micky thompson drag radials will still bog the car :p.

lol... thats soo true lol.. in fact the setting i gave for 4000rpms is for street tyres.. if ur using slics u may want to consider 5000~5500rpms for a good launch, as fur pointed out :D

@ fur, have u seen the new MT slics!! man they are fucking awesome! soft as a baby's ass, il lbet anything that a 1.8 60ft is possible with them, if not lower.. but thats up to the pros not me lol  lol..

if i get a 2.0 60ft ill be over the moon loool!!

friend here running MT sport compact drag radials on 13 psi inna 294whp ep91, says the car just darts forward, with a microtech running launch control leaving on 12psi @ 6000 rpm, gt2871.

anywayyyysss guys, EMU EMU EMU EMU :)
don't get sidetracked lol

btw guys, 13psi is the tyre pressue, not the boost at 294whp :p
and 12psi is only for launch to limit wheelsping

hybrid in your experimenting with the launch control you can try using higher disengage speeds before releasing full power to the wheels, that is if you get too much wheelspin on launch, in the setting that says # of VS pulse is where you put the disengage speed, so the launch control turns off itself once the car reaches that speed

hmm i thought about it, but the thing is that to cut the launch control i need to lift my foot off the gas & repress it (only a few milliseconds lol) otherwise it will keep cutting... i tried making the vs pulse longer but it didnt change anything...

meh.. me thinks greddy need to sort out alot of software bugs lol..

thanks for the tip bro ;)

its working quite well, but for some reason the vss doesnt cut when it should so i need to pull my foot up & plant it down again... launch is much better now, but still needs some work :)

didnt see u shel, was with keith looking for parking, we spent a good 45mins trying to park :shoot: man it was the 1st time i saw mario's glanza up close!! that car is a fucking dream man!!! well done mario!

next time ill take a laptop up :D lol

kon you are having some bad luck, as my launch control cuts with the signal from the VSS, i usually set it at 10 for immediate release. i have never had to lift throttle to go back on, full throttle straight off the line. when you go into datalog does it show that the EMU is receiving a VSS signal? and does it correspond with your speedo somewhat?

damn lol... i just figured this out on my way home... the 2nd value to be entered on the emu (on diag 2) ie ign cut should be set at the maximum rpm, ie not 4000rpm.... im such a dumbass lol so basically it should be set at 7200rpms or lower doh... i feel stupid lol..

so lemme get this str, a vss signal of 10 cuts it off instantly? hmmm think i need to get that a little higher then.. perhaps go for 15 or 20..

thanks for that dude ;)

i think you guys know how to work the emu better than greddy lol

if i could find the quote off another site id post it but it basically says this:

"after reading, & installing the emu, many have tuned it themselves... it seems that greddy need to sit the engineer that wrote the manual down & make him re write it, as the amount of crap written in there is close to a harry potter book" lol

i think that describes the emu manual PERFECTLY! :homer:

kon you can't be serious!!!
lol
i thought it was understood that you set the other one to the rev limit
that would explain the lifting foot business.....

shhhhhhh lol... :homer:

i guess we can call this my blond moment.. wheres my trophy??

yes i know it was stupid, but i was trying to think about it.. & well i messed up waa :( lol no wonder it didnt do that much yday...

ah well, thats the fun of DIY tuning.. u cant blame the tuner for ur mistakes lol.... besides every mistake = something new learnt

Super Moderator <a href="http://www.toyotagtturbo.
it may aswell be written in heybrew because i still dont understand it lol

the only thing useful about the manual is the installation guide lol & the parameter, jumper & error listing.. the rest is pure utter GARBAGE!

its basically try... fail... try... succeed lol proabably the biggest trial & error ecu in history... but its fun & i love it.. even if its earned me a good 5 livetimes in hell for all the swearing iv done :D :p

Hmmm all this talk makes buying an emanage really tempting!
But the problem is that no one tunes them here :(
Just wondering would it be able to copy someone with a similar setup as mine's fuel and ign maps and then use autotune to fine tune? Or does it not work like that? I know every car is different but wouldn't someone with same setup give decent but not 100% gains? Thanks.

well ur setups would have to be really similar.. & yes u could copy the fuel maps & use the auto tune to "finetune" everything.. but it could also mess everything up if uv got the parameters of the af target screwed...

forget copying timing at any point.. it would kill ur engine in nothing flat... fuel is ok to copy but i wouldnt dare copy timing maps.. u can see them & use them as reference, but as far as timing goes one engine to another there is a gap the size of well mars lol... btu yeah ud be ok copying fuelling ;)

besides u could always datalog ur work & post it up.. ;) so we could all help :D
