Sounds like a map sensor issue to me dude.
Coils can break down under certain conditions, damp is the main issue but the fact you say it is doing it when cold more than hot makes me think its it.
The 2 wire plug that connects to the coil has a 12 volt from IG2 and an earth connection. If the earth connection is not good when the coil is charged it may be earthing to the body of the coil through bad insulation and not giving the full power out. The ignitor bit needs to be earthed to the body so you cant remove it from the bulkhead, but check the earth in the plug is good.
Have you tried a wider gap in the plugs to see if it happens earlier in boost? thats a good sign of a coil breaking down when you give it more work to do.
A bad king lead will give these symptoms as well so try another one of them if you can also.
I would defo check the map sensor and connections.when I wired in my boost controller I put the map sensor connections (had a built in fcd) the wrong way round and it caused the problems you mentioned but alot worse.car kept turning off and misfired on boost ect ran like death until I realised then it was fine.so maybe your connection is bad or something?considering you have changed everything else numerous times it definately seems a possibility!
this is a shot in the dark but could it possibly be a dodgy crankshaft sensor....?

the dont have one
ill try come see u today rory
****UPDATE*******
After going through everything that was said on this thread, it turned out to be something very fecking simple.....
The king lead (which is under 4 months old) has given up playing ball.
Reason i know this is, after making up a make shift king lead from an old lead and custom ends, it fired into life on the 1st barrel....
My advice, never buy Magnecor, but they are the only leads that are not bad on price
Feck knows what ill do in regards to them, as im not paying £80 on leads every 4-6 months
Anyone have any thoughts on leads now?
